Gobernanza de la identidad sonora
Once articulated, a sound identity enters the life of the place over time: teams change, seasons pass, patterns of use shift, local requests emerge. Music Eye View organises these changes so that the direction remains intelligible, every decision can be discussed, and the reasons behind it remain available to the teams who will carry it forward.
What sound identity governance is
A sound direction remains true when it is actively stewarded over time. A season passes, a space opens, a new team arrives, a request comes up: each change starts from what is already in place.
Gobernarance frames those decisions. It establishes what belongs to the sound direction, what can vary from one place or moment to another, who can intervene, and when a fresh decision is needed. It preserves the memory of those choices, so an adaptation can be understood, handed over and revisited.
For Music Eye View, sound identity governance is the discipline that keeps the direction coherent as the place, its audiences and its patterns of use shift. It keeps the identity capable of evolving: it can change without losing the intention that connects its different expressions.
From playlist to sound direction
A playlist can be right for one evening. Then a track wears out, a season passes or a new space opens: a decision has to be made about what stays and what gives way. A decision needs a principle; a list is not one.
The place, meanwhile, keeps sending signals. Teams flag things, patterns of use shift, requests come back, decisions follow. Brought together and recorded, those signals form a memory; left scattered, they disappear, along with their reasons.
Gobernanza de la identidad sonora sets shared criteria and separates day-to-day adjustment from a decision that changes the direction. Programmes then follow a logic rather than becoming an accumulation.
Analizaring audiences, teams and use patterns
To govern is to read a situation, then read it again as it changes. Audiences are the starting point: their rhythms, their patterns of use and the way they inhabit or bring a place to life come before deciding what will be heard there.
Pascale and Éric Perruchot carry this reading together, drawing on nearly fifteen years of engagements in more than thirty-five countries. Pascale listens to teams, observes how places are used and brings forward the questions that call for a decision. Éric works with musical matter, its histories and its codes, and translates decisions into programmes and editorial rules.
Their dialogue brings together the concept, the brand, the spaces, the audiences, the teams and the responsibilities involved. Each musical decision can therefore be traced back to an observed situation and to a reason that can be stated.
This field practice also informs their teaching at Sciences Po Paris and Institut Lyfe.
Cinco movimientos. Unadisciplina
Gobernanza de la identidad sonora involves five continuous movements, each producing decisions that remain available to inform the next.
Audiences, teams, patterns of use, and what makes the situation singular.
A musical direction, from explicit criteria.
That direction across the intended zones, moments and systems.
The programmes, as the situation evolves.
The criteria, responsibilities and memory of each change.
All five movements remain open at all times. A question is picked up again at the movement it concerns, while the overall direction remains in place.
01Analizar
Once design is complete, the reading continues. A deployed identity meets audiences, teams and shifting patterns of use every day.
Three actions make up that reading: observe spaces when they are active, listen to teams, examine the system in place. From there, an incident can be distinguished from a trend, a preference from recurring feedback, and a technical constraint from an editorial question.
02Elegir
Choosing means making two decisions: what belongs and what does not, and what remains or changes.
Musical parameters make that judgement precise: repertoires, tempos, densities, intensities, voices, languages, transitions and exclusions. Their combination responds to the intention of the brand, institution or concept, to observed patterns of use, and to the way audiences inhabit the place.
Every decision retains its rationale. A team taking over can understand why a choice exists, what it can adjust, and what calls for a new discussion with Music Eye View. A decision can be defended, revised or set aside while the direction remains in place.
03Implementar
Implementaring means taking the sound direction from document to place.
Music Eye View designs the editorial logic of deployment and documents the operating rules that will sustain it. Where Music Eye View’s own systems are concerned, implementation and operation are its responsibility. Where playback relies on the client’s infrastructure, Music Eye View defines its requirements and coordinates interfaces with the appointed contacts. Gobernarance preserves the record of decisions made during commissioning. The detail of systems, interfaces and infrastructure belongs on the Implementación page.
04Adaptarar
Adaptararing means responding to what feedback reveals rather than simply to what it asks for. A request is first situated: which space, which moment, which audience does it concern? Then comes its nature: an isolated case, a recurring signal, or a shift in the concept itself.
Feedback from the field is collected and consolidated with the client’s appointed contacts. The platform supports how that feedback is shared and followed up. Artificial intelligence identifies recurring patterns and adds another layer of insight. Tool-assisted analysis sheds light. The editorial decision remains human.
That decision rests with Pascale, Éric and the Music Eye View team, in dialogue with the client’s decision-makers. That subjectivity is acknowledged: it is grounded in the stated direction, the situations observed and each party’s responsibilities. What should be kept, adjusted or set aside is then documented.
Adaptararation then follows a readable sequence:
05Gobernar
To govern is to establish what must remain reconocible, what can change, and according to which criteria.
Without explicit judgement, the temporary becomes permanent: a track added for the moment stays, a seasonal programme becomes permanent, a local workaround is passed on as a rule. Each shift looks minor; together, they make the direction hard to explain.
Gobernarance sets the moments when those choices are revisited. Changes are discussed, refusals are explained, and decisions remain traceable when teams or suppliers change.
A governed identity remains alive: what changes can be explained, what remains can be recognised, and the memory of decisions can be passed on.
What sound identity governance preserves
A governed sound identity retains its decision criteria, its editorial continuity and the memory of its evolution. A new team can find the criteria, the logic of zones and moments, and the reason behind each earlier choice.
Gobernarance also distinguishes tools from the decisions they serve. A streaming account delivers, a playlist gathers, a moodboard illustrates, an algorithm suggests. The criteria that decide what belongs, and the logic that connects zones to moments, live in the documents the client retains.
The sound identity belongs to the place, and can be passed on with it.
Where sound identity governance applies
Hotel, clinic, campus, headquarters: every environment has its own audiences, patterns of use and responsibilities. The method travels from one setting to another; the decisions themselves come from the setting.
Hospitality
In a hotel, resort, restaurant, bar or private club, arrivals, services, seasons and stays all change the rhythm of the place. Gobernanza de la identidad sonora connects those moments while allowing each to retain its own programming.
Healthcare and wellbeing
In a clinic, healthcare setting, waiting room or wellbeing centre, patients, relatives and care teams move through periods of waiting, transition and sometimes vulnerability. Gobernanza de la identidad sonora frames the presence of music with restraint, leaving clinical care to those responsible for it.
Education
In a school or on a campus, students, teachers and teams move between attention and circulation, teaching and encounter, encounter and pause. Gobernanza de la identidad sonora distinguishes those uses, including the ones that call for silence.
Workplaces and brand spaces
In a headquarters, office, showroom or reception space, teams and visitors move through several spaces, several timeframes and several functions. Gobernanza de la identidad sonora establishes what remains shared and what adapts locally.
Shared governance
On the client side, each party retains its own remit. The organisation decides on the matters within its remit and brings together requests from its teams. The site or operator holds the public-performance licences. IT owns the network and information security. The audiovisual integrator owns the playback infrastructure. Music Eye View sets out its requirements to each party and coordinates the interfaces with its own systems.
Preguntas frecuentes
Why does a sound identity need to be governed?
A sound identity that is right at one moment will drift over time if nobody governs it. Uses change, programmes wear out, exceptions accumulate and the memory of past decisions disappears. Gobernanza sonora prevents that drift: it keeps the sound identity readable and revisable as an asset, rather than allowing it to become fragile legacy material.
¿Cómo evoluciona una identidad sonora con el tiempo?
Through documented revisions, not continuous change. Feedback from the field, observations from teams, shifts in the concept and the passage of seasons set the rhythm. Each decision is made with the client and then recorded, so the memory of those choices is still available when it needs to be revisited.
¿Cómo se tienen en cuenta los comentarios de los equipos?
Through organised channels, not isolated spontaneous comments. Front-line teams hear things that a single data point cannot show: recurring discomfort, an unexpected use, or a gap between the intended experience and what is actually happening. Music Eye View structures that feedback and turns it into editorial decisions when it warrants them.
Open a conversation
The question of governance arises when a sound direction has to move across several spaces, several seasons, a change of team, or local requests that call for a shared response.
The first conversation is with Pascale and Éric. It establishes the context: the audiences, patterns of use, existing system, expected changes and responsibilities involved. If an engagement begins to take shape, it defines the possible scope; the audit will be the first step.
The audit takes stock of what is already in place and leads to a recommendation: what should be kept, corrected, removed, built or left silent. From there comes the sound direction that will then be deployed and governed.
